The FourCast® is an extensive chair collection with a focus on function, ergonomic support, and everyday use. The first FourCast® was designed as a bent wooden chair back in 2005. The characteristic V shape on the back sends a strong signal and provides for maximal seating comfort. The commercially successful FourCast® collection achieved the EU Ecolabel accreditation in 2019. Already a classic in its own right, Strand + Hvass revisited the project to extend its lifespan and give it a circular design, earning it the prestigious designation. When revisiting the design, Strand + Hvass developed a new and stronger mounting system for the frame to avoid damage to the plastic shell. This new system enables the legs to be removed and replaced, and eventually, for the plastic shell to be recycled after long-term use. Today, FourCast® is available in plastic or veneer with seat upholstery or full upholstery, with or without armrests, different types of frames and linking devices.
